A quick blast on Fugue Machine Rubato, a new app from Audionautic that I’ve got the demo for at the moment. Rubato means the slight speeding up and then slowing down of the tempo as a musician plays their piece. This is the new version of Fugue Machine, a sequencer app that’s been around for ages, that features four playheads, that play a set of notes at different speeds and in different directions. Up until now, the tempo has always been rigid but that can be sped up or slowed down in real time, creating a rafter spectacular effect in the process.
I recorded this in Logic Pro for iPad which has just received an excellent update with 2.2 and the other plugin used was Elastic OSC for the synth.
