Outgrowth Sampler - creating our own preset

Outgrowth developed by Aqeel Aadam and Blankfor.ms, is their first plugin collaboration and brings us a new and exciting creative sampler. If you’ve enjoyed plugins such as Waymaker, Ridgewalk etc, then you’ll feel at home with this one. It’s smashing.

In my video today, I show you how to create a new preset of your own by loading multiple samples into one instrument. You can split your keyboard, so bottom octaves for a bass perhaps and higher octaves for a piano. In this case though, we go for something a bit more soundscape focused. Interesting to note that the two sounds we choose are very different but end up fitting together quite well.

I’ve got into the habit of recording sounds on my iPhone using Voice Memo or Koala sampler, so that I’ve built up a library of sounds from pigeons to storms. I will continue doing this over time and will create further presets in Outgrowth, with the aim of making them available for download somewhere, maybe Patreon, as I’m setting that up in parallel to Substack.

I wish we could create stores on Substack, alternative ways of making money besides subscriptions.

This plugin is available on iOS and as a VST, so you can get it for your desktop powered projects too.

He’s a talented developer and an artist too, his Bandcamp page is worth a look too.
