Please note, I started to write this just over a week ago, saved it as a draft and then didn’t properly finish it…
Well hello there fellow human and very probably synth nerd. Lots of stuff going on at the minute and I’ve not had much time to take stock of all of the new things. That’s not a bad thing, as there is plenty of potential for new content.
Dialekt
The track above by the way, is one I concocted using the brilliant new app called Dialekt from Sugar Bytes. It’s a software based Groove Box that comes as a VST/AU, standalone, iOS app and auv3 plugin. So can run on the Mac, my iPad (of course) and iPhone. So you can compose grooves on the go and that’s how this little tune came about.
Fabulous fun and likely to appear on Modulations many times in the future.
Waymaker and Elastic OSC
Another couple of apps that came out recently were, Elastic OSC and Waymaker.
The former is based on Mutable Instruments legendary Plaits, Eurorack module. This is a 12 oscillator synth! Mental! It sounds glorious.
Pair it up with Waymaker by Aqeel Adam’s, the fascinating, brilliant new sequencer and you’ve got a powerful system to play with.
All of the above, I’d like to do a proper video or two on these at some point.

Last night (last week in fact) at The West End Centre in Aldershot was a packed event, we had a number of performances and two jams, including one I took part in, see photos below.
Ben is closest to the camera, he had bought in the fairly new Polyend Synth, Akira in the middle wearing the cap, was playing their Buchla system and me on the far side playing the Hydrasynth.
Recordings will, I believe go up on Soundcloud soon and you can listen to previous ones, in the meantime, including April’s event that I missed.

Apologies - this was due to go out last week, I parked it, wanted to add more to it but haven’t had the time or energy - not been feeling quite right for a couple of weeks, mentally or physically. I am taking a break right now - have dived into this draft, polished it off and hit publish!
