The sound lab
This is where I shall share new experimental tracks each time I record one, this will be a continual page.
A number of people have inspired me to try something out here and that is to release new tracks on Substack, treating it as a music platform in its own right. So I’m hoping that when updating a post, maybe once in awhile, it can be sent out as an email each time? Let’s see.

I’ve been playing around with AUM and have created a “rig” as I like to call it, which comprises of Samplr, various other apps and the output of each instrument is being fed into either Loopy Pro or Circa via a bus, to capture sounds, then fade out the sources to leave the captured audio running within circa. So in this experimental track, that’s what we have, the residual sound being processed by this deep, crazy tap emulator with 6 reels.
I bloody love it!
One of the iOS instruments I bought this past week was Ova synth by Cem Olcay, which I’ve enjoyed playing and it’s great for ambient music, such as the next track.
Finally for today, some ambient ideas in Samplr

I’ve named the above track Bandai after the famous Japanese gaming company (my dad worked for their London office back in the 80s) because it has a Japanese feel thanks to the Pentatonic scale that it’s based on. This one was created using a combination of a Torso T1 and the iPad running Loopy Pro running Elastic OSC that’s based on Mutable Instruments “Plits”.
