I love how that chunk of the Dorset coastline looks like parts of a jigsaw puzzle! I've sailed from Knoll beach before - Laser Pico, a good few years ago now - I did my back in in the process - long story! Revisited on my honeymoon - the beach, not the sailing - it was wonderful.
In answer to your question: I haven't had anything I would describe as a 'sea odyssey', although living on the south-east coast of England I aim for a splash in the sea every so often, as it'd be rude not to!
