Are you taking part in Jamuary this year?
If you’ve not heard of it before, then search for it on YouTube and you’ll see lots of people have been creating theirs. It’s just a way of setting aside some time as often as you can in the month and share what you come up with.
If you’ve subbed to this newsletter some time ago, you’ll know that I do this anyway through my “Sonic log” posts that I do.
How this one was made
It’s a bit of a wild one, very drone based and you know when you are about to publish something and worry that it’s a bit different to what you normally do - yeah, one of those!
The main plugins in use here are MidiStep, Zeeon, Buzz Tone, Continua and FM Zone. The only effect I’m using here is the impressive tape effect K7D - check them out if you don’t have these, they can be used in any AUv3 friendly hosts of course.
Will I do more of these during the remainder of January? Oh yes!
What else to expect?
I want to produce a monthly newsletter that lists various things I’ve come across musically over the past 30 or so days. That is in addition to video posts like this one that come out quite often.
So a case of short, medium and long form posts going out each month.
I will also be running more “chats” too, where we can get an idea of who our subscribers are. I know some of you pretty well, either because you’ve been here for ages and I follow your substacks or I know you in real life.
We’ve seen lots of new people sign up and I would like to learn about your projects and therefore, feature them in the newsletters!
Have a great weekend when it lands!
